I bought some heavy interfacing and wanted to try drawing on it. Wanted to experiment with using this as a surface to show instead of just a filler between layers. Had an "oops" with my new Pearl-Ex powder. This needs more experimenting.

Did you need to back it with anything or is it that stiff?
What medium did you use to paint your heart?
The interfacing is stiff on its own - about the stiffness of a cereal box. (I noticed Fannie uses Peltex, so checked it out. This one doesn't have any iron-on adhesive.)
I used green and yellow Neocolor II (I bought myself a few to try) and my other watercolor pencils. The dark splotches are the Pearl-Ex. I wanted a light dusting of shimmer, but bumped it the wrong way and got a blob!
I plan to play more with the Peltex. Nice to have a ravel-free edge. Do you guys read Quilting Arts? The latest issues show several things where the interfacing or batting for the surface of quilted projects. Opens up a whole new world of play!

I've only just tried Peltex, so will see as I go along. I found out about it, really, from YOU, Fannie! I like it so far - keeps the postcards nice and crisp yet still thin. I had been using batting to give them substance before, but I think I like the Peltex better. I'm sure that will depend on the project.
